lumens

These cameraless, lensless images are created by placing plant matter on black and white silver gelatin photographic paper and exposing with sunlight. The amount of silver in the paper, together with strength of UV light, humidity, length of exposure, plant chemistry - and more! - all affect the outcome, leading to surprising photolytic hues, shapes, forms and a luminous glow - a symphony of imprinted energy. Each image is then color-edited and translated through different materials including delicate translucent Washi papers, recycled fibers, and aluminum.
