Paula Pink is an experimental photographic artist based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, she trained and worked as a graphic designer in London and holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from The New School in New York. Her work has appeared in national and international exhibitions, and is held in private collections worldwide.

Paula explores contemporary approaches to alternative and experimental photographic practices rooted in the medium’s innovative origins - bridging analog and digital realms to investigate the living world through both a scientific curiosity and deeply intuitive lens. Working predominantly without a camera, she uses light and chemistry as collaborators to engage the natural forces shaping and driving our universe, revealing what is delicate and easily overlooked. Through patterns, organic forms, and the interconnectedness of all things, Paula invites viewers to contemplate the wonders of nature, and its fragility, as an essential part of our shared existence.

“In my work, photography becomes less a means of recording the world than a way of entering into a relationship with it. Working across historical and experimental photographic processes, I approach image-making as a material inquiry - one that unfolds through the encounter of light, chemistry, minerals, water, organic matter, and time. The resulting works do not attempt to explain the natural world or stand apart from it. Instead, they emerge from the same elemental processes they invite us to contemplate”.
