KIRLIAN

These cameraless images (photograms) are made in the traditional photographic darkroom with plant matter, electricity, and light on expired fibre-based silver gelatin photographic paper. The trace imprints are then translated through platinum and palladium - bringing geological and ecological time into contemporary dialogue. Work in this series is inspired by theories of plant agency, together with the scientific wonder of early discoveries in image-making communication through light and chemistry. The series Back Down to Earth was a finalist in PhotoLucida’s 2025 Critical Mass Top 50, and published in Emergence Magazine Vol 7 : Seeds and Structures 2026
